ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certification enables you to demonstrate your commitment to quality and customer satisfaction in India, as well as continuously improving your company’s operations. The internationally recognized quality management system standard is the preferred solution for organizations worldwide in India.
In November 2008 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) introduced a revised Quality Management standard based on the same process model as the 2000 revision, with an emphasis on measuring customer satisfaction of all industry sectors in India. The current version continues to emphasize compatibility with ISO 14001 - Environmental Management Systems.
The goal is for all organizations to seek continuous performance improvement in India. All requirements for quality management of the product or service are covered in ISO 9001:2008 which includes a quality planning requirement along with policies in India, objectives and quantifiable targets.
ISO 9001:2008 requires organizations to have a quality manual which includes the documented procedures or references to them. The manual must include a description of the sequence and interaction of the processes that make up the quality management system specific to your business sectors in India. In addition, the scope of the system has to be clearly defined.
ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization of all business sectors in India
• needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements in India, and
• aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system in India and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements in India.
All requirements of ISO 9001:2008 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations in India, regardless of type, size and product provided.
Where any requirement(s) of ISO 9001:2008 cannot be applied due to the nature of an organization and its product, this can be considered for exclusion.
Where exclusions are made, claims of conformity to ISO 9001:2008 are not acceptable unless these exclusions are limited to requirements within Clause 7, and such exclusions do not affect the organization's ability, or responsibility, to provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements of all business sectors in India
